Right To Consult The Data Protection Register

All people have the right to know, free of charge:

  • Whether files or processing of their personal data exist.
  • The purpose of such files or processing.
  • The identity of the person responsible (controller) for the file or processing.

This right implies providing information about which files a specific data controller has under his/her responsibility. It is not a question of knowing whether our data is included in any file in particular, as files recorded in the Register do not contain personal data pertaining to anyone in particular.

The on-line Register consultation system enables people to exercise their rights of access, rectification, cancellation and objection against the entity holding their personal data. It can also provide information about the unit or service before which these rights may be exercised.

How to exercise this right

Information about registered files may be obtained through on-line consultation at:

Data Protection Register of Catalonia

For information about files that are recorded in the Register of the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD), consultation must be made at www.agpd.es
