ALBA-CERN Agreements Signature
On 30th January, at CERN, Caterina Biscari and Steinar Stapnes -CLIC Study Leader- signed a Memorandum of Understanding which makes CELLS a member of the CLIC multilateral collaboration. On 31st January, at CERN, Caterina Biscari and Rolf-Dieter Heuer -CERN Director General- signed a Framework Collaboration Agreement for collaboration in the design, development, construction and validation of components and systems in the field of particle accelerators.
Status of ALBA
This status of ALBA presents an overview of the 7 Phase I Beamlines, the laboratory of optics and metrology and the laboratory of magnetic measurements and insertion devices, as well as the status of the storage ring and the free ports available for future beamlines.
First Open Day at Alba Synchrotron
ALBA, the Spanish Synchrotron Radiation Facility, held on past 15th of December its first Open Day. More than 1000 visitors mostly coming from Barcelona and the sorroundings neighbouring, arrived to the laboratory, on a sunny Mediterranean Winter day, and many hundreds more had to be postponed for the next events.

First publication
The first scientific publication with data measured at Alba synchrotron has been accepted for publication in Inorganic Chemistry. The article is a collaboration between three institutions, the "Universidad Complutense de Madrid", the "Universidad de Valencia" and the Max-Planck Institut für Festkörperforschung.
First official users on the PEEM station of the CIRCE beamline
The group from Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Barcelona came on October 17th in order to study self-patterned single crystalline substrates and thin films.
