First users at the high pressure endstation of mspd

The standard proposal 'Pressure-induced structural-phase transition in [(CnH2n+1)4N]FeX4 (n=1,4; X: Cl,Br) associated with changes of Fe coordination. Opto-structural correlations', granted with 10 shifts, started running experiments at ALBA on June 27, 2012. During this beamtime the spectroscopy and high pressure research group from the University of Cantabria(http://grupos.unican.es/apye/Index.html) measured five samples over the proposed pressure range. As an illustration of the structural phase transitions that they observed, the powder diffraction patterns of one the samples versus pressure is shown in the figure. It should be mentioned that the sample pressure was measured with the Alba pressure calibration set-up.
