Event ALBA User Meeting 2013 and VI AUSE Conference
ALBA User Meeting 2013 and VI AUSE Conference is jointly organized by AUSE, the Spanish Synchrotron User Association, and CELLS ALBA Synchrotron. The event is a major community gathering for the users of synchrotron radiation. It offers a unique opportunity for synchrotron users to comment about their most exciting research results, whether obtained at ALBA or in other synchrotrons, get the most up-to-date information about ALBA beamline performances, and take part in an exceptional discussion forum about synchrotron research prospective.

Event ALBA synchrotron, new instrumentation for Nanoscience and Molecular Materials Characterization
The workshop "ALBA Synchrotron: New instrumentation for Nanoscience and Molecular Materials Characterization" is an ALBA initiative to promote the use of this synchrotron light source among scientists unfamiliar with the experimental possibilities such facilities can offer. This activity is jointly funded by the "Grupo Especializado en Nanociencia y Materiales Moleculares" (MAM) from the "Real Sociedad Española de Química (RSEQ) y de Física (RSEF)"and CELLS ALBA Synchrotron and it will take place at ALBA on November 14-15, 2013.

Event 4th international workshop on Metrology for X-ray Optics, Mirror Design, and Fabrication
The workshop merges the fifth workshop on Active X-ray and XUV optics (ACTOP 2012) and the third International Workshop on Metrology for X-ray and XUV Optics. It will provide a forum for presentation and discussion on the latest developments in X-ray optics, with particular regard to improvements in metrology and results on deformable mirrors. Contributions from private companies are welcome. The workshop will include a series of oral and poster presentations as well as a tour of the recently commissioned ALBA synchrotron radiation source.

Event Workshop about Investment (EDI program - FCRi)
A workshop on Investment topics will be held at ALBA in collaboration with the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRi), who is promoting the EDI program (Innovation Teams). This program aims to promote a cultural change in the relationships between the scientific and the industrial worlds to enhance the valorization and commercialization of the research results. ALBA is one of the participants in that pilot program with two projects, one from the Computing and other from the Engineering Divisions, and coordinated by the Industrial Office.

Event Data Retrieval and Structure Determination from Synchrotron Powder Diffraction Data Alba Synchrotron
The workshop is aimed at present and future users of the Materials Science and Powder Diffraction beamline (MSPD) at Alba who are interested in the complete process of structure solution: starting from sample preparation, passing through data measurement/ retrieval and ending with the application of structure solution software. The necessary tools for understanding the whole process will be provided. An additional very important objective of the workshop is to show the capabilities and specificities of the MSPD beamline which is especially relevant for the planning of future experiments. The seminars will be given by the beamline staff and ICMAB researchers.

De 10:00 a 17:00 h, els propis científics i tècnics del Sincrotró ALBA explicaran als visitants què és un sincrotró, com funciona i per a què serveix. La visita inclou un recorregut per la instal·lació i activitats per a totes les edats.
