ALBA Synchrotron and multinational company Henkel sign a R&D collaboration agreement

ALBA Synchrotron achieves with this agreement with Henkel one of his main targets: collaboration with industry based on research and development at the highest scientific and technological level. Henkel is the first company signing a R&D collaboration agreement with ALBA regarding industrial applications of synchrotron techniques. With this agreement Henkel reinforces its already proved capacity on R&D and decides to support the ALBA Synchrotron capacities.

El 30 de Gener, al CERN, Caterina Biscari i Steinar Stapnes –Cap de Projectes de CLIC- signaren un Memorandum d’Entesa que converteix a CELLS en membre de la col•laboració multilateral CLIC .
El 31 de Gener, al CERN, Caterina Biscari i Rolf-Dieter Heuer – Director General del CERN- signaren un Acord Marc de Col•laboració per a la col•laboració en el disseny, desenvolupament, construcció i validació de components i sistemes en l’àrea d’acceleradors de partícules.

El 30 de Enero, en el CERN, Caterina Biscari y Steinar Stapnes -Jefe de Proyectos de CLIC- firmaron un Memorandum de Entendimiento que convierte a CELLS en miembro de la colaboración multilateral CLIC.
El 31 de Enero, en el CERN, Caterina Biscari y Rolf-Dieter Heuer – Director General del CERN- firmaron un Acuerdo Marco de Colaboración para la colaboración en el diseño, desarrollo, construcción y validación de componentes y sistemas en el campo de los aceleradores de partículas.

ALBA-CERN Agreements Signature

On 30th January, at CERN, Caterina Biscari and Steinar Stapnes -CLIC Study Leader- signed a Memorandum of Understanding which makes CELLS a member of the CLIC multilateral collaboration.
On 31st January, at CERN, Caterina Biscari and Rolf-Dieter Heuer -CERN Director General- signed a Framework Collaboration Agreement for collaboration in the design, development, construction and validation of components and systems in the field of particle accelerators.

Status of ALBA

This status of ALBA presents an overview of the 7 Phase I Beamlines, the laboratory of optics and metrology and the laboratory of magnetic measurements and insertion devices, as well as the status of the storage ring and the free ports available for future beamlines.

First Open Day at Alba Synchrotron

ALBA, the Spanish Synchrotron Radiation Facility, held on past 15th of December its first Open Day. More than 1000 visitors mostly coming from Barcelona and the sorroundings neighbouring, arrived to the laboratory, on a sunny Mediterranean Winter day, and many hundreds more had to be postponed for the next events.

The first scientific publication with data measured at Alba synchrotron has been accepted for publication in Inorganic Chemistry. The article is a collaboration between three institutions, the "Universidad Complutense de Madrid", the "Universidad de Valencia" and the Max-Planck Institut für Festkörperforschung.
