Electric Bicycles

In addition to the regular shuttle bus between Vila 2/Hotel Campus and ALBA, users can borrow the electrical bicycle allocated to their beamline. Depending on availability, you may however use the bicycle of another beamline.

BOOKING

You can book your electric bicycle at the reception of Vila Universitaria from Monday to Friday, all day. If you arrive over the week-end, remember to book in advance at +34 93 581 7004, email.

Upon providing your personal information, you will receive a helmet, the key for the anti-theft lock, a magnetic card to access Vila 2 parking lot, and a map with the way to ALBA Synchrotron. If you have any doubt, please ask Vila Universitaria reception or ALBA security staff.

PARKING AREAS

• Vila2: to exit AND enter the parking lot, use your magnetic key, as the system will not allow two consecutive entries or exits. From 10pm to 8am, to leave, press the button next to the last column. On the way back, the magnetic key will open both the door and barrier.
• ALBA: the bike park is close to the security access control.

Please fix the lock in the rear wheel whenever the bicycle is parked, and take the key.

ELECTRIC BICYCLE OPERATION

• The electric bicycle will assist your motion but requires pedaling to go.
• The gearshift is on the handlebar, with three speeds: up, down or flat.
• The saddle height may be adjusted without key by loosening the screw regulating its position.
• The light switch is on the screen on the handlebar.
• When parked at Vila 2, remember to leave the battery connected to the  charger.

CONDITIONS

The use of those electric bicycles is restricted to the way between Vila2, Hotel Campus and ALBA, mostly covered with a bicycle path. Please be careful and respect traffic rules.
