Site visit
July, 2nd, 2004: The Catalan minister for universities, research and information society visits the geotechnical studies on site.
New area known as «Centre Direccional»
June, 30th, 2004: The Cerdanyola Townhall Council approved an agreement with the Catalan government and the Synchrotron to locate the facility in the new area known as «Centre Direccional».
Constitution
March, 14, 2003: Constitution of the new consortium to build and exploit the Vallès synchrotron.
President and director appointed
June, 12, 2003: The Rector Council has appointed the President of the executive comission (Dr. Ramon Pascual) and the Director of the Vallès Synchrotron (Dr. Joan Bordas).
Memorandum of Understanding
On the 3th October 2003, the Consortium signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Canadian Light Source (CLS).
ALBA
On the 5th March 2004, the Executive Comission agreed that the official name of our machine and syncrotron is ALBA.
